Free Book Alert! Give-away For LUCY THE WONDER WEENIE!

Hi! My name is Lucy. My mom...

...Nina Clark, decided to write a book about a super hero weenie dog named Lucy. (That would be me). She found a super amazing artist to do the paintings...

...that would be Sara Pulver.

So far the book LUCY THE WONDER WEENIE...

...has been getting some good feedback. "Adorable." "Fun!" "Sooooo cuuuuuute!" "Lovely." "I think it's funny." And my favorite..."This book smacks of happiness."

...my idea of happiness is a big jumbo pile of doggie treats! YUM!
So, anyway, I told my mom I think we should give away some free copies of our new book...

And she said yes! Hooray!

So, here's the deal. We are giving away five free copies of LUCY THE WONDER WEENIE. All you have to do is leave a comment with your email address, and tell us about your favorite pet! You'll be entered to win the drawing for the books.

In the meantime, I'll be taking a nap. Being a super hero is exhausting.

DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE A COMMENT WITH YOUR EMAIL! TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE SUPER HERO PET...DOG, CAT, FISH, WHATEVER! CONTEST IS OPEN THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22.

Have a nappy day,
Lucy

My rescue pups are Lacey and Vernie (short for Laverne) . They were both traveling with rescue groups through the pet store I work at. They chose my family and although they may object to the pink and purple Mohawks they have been given on occassion they love all they toys. They were both abuse cases and had to learn both manners and how to play. They learned quickly. Can't imagine our home without them now.

My favorite pet was Endora, the picture perfect black cat. The only problem was she didn't know she was a cat.

We had a house full of animals, including other cats but Endora refused to be pigeon holed as one of those. At various times she thought she was a guinea pig, a ferret, a bird, a hamster, and a dog.

I used to keep the cats out of my office, because I needed one room without the allergens in it. Endora, who was not skinny, somehow managed to squeeze herself under the door and when I would walk in she would look at me lovingly from my chair.

I thought she was mute. She had a gorgeous purr, but in twelve years I never heard her meow. (It added to that "I am not a cat thing".) Then suddenly one day when she was thirteen, she turned around and a deep, rusty, almost manly meow came out of her mouth when she wanted to complain about an interloper.

I miss my Endora.

My favorite pet was my parakeet named Artoo. I just recently lost him, he lived to be 12 years old.

Well, I have to add my own Wonder Schnauzer - Pearl! She keeps the squirrels chattering (could be squirrel laughter) Then rolls in the dry grass (so you can't see her!). Her "vicious" bark from under the bed keeps our home safe from intruders!!!
She is the best buddy ever!!

I had a pet duck called Guendalina. She was the most adorable thing on earth.
She identified us as her parents and would follow us everywhere.
She used to talk to us (yes, talk) when she needed something. If we left, she must have one of our belongings close to her (the favourite:my father's shoes, used as a bed). As she knew she couldn't go in the house, she used to sleep (and poo) on the doormat. On the next day my grandma punctually slipped on the mess she left and yelled at her. She would of course yell back: she was a sensitive duck.

As we decided not to shorten the feathers of her wings -as soon as she learned to fly- she would visit the neighbourhood regularly. Three times she left, two times she was brought back. The third time she didn't come back.
I want to think she resettled somewhere, in a warmer place, surrounded by a huge duck family.

We still talk about here and have photos around... She's missed :(
